ZAS INITIATIVES
The Zeta Alpha Sigma Chapter hosts and supports a variety of community service, social action, scholarship, and fundraising initiatives to assist it providing greater service and greater progress to our service area and surrounding communities.
SERVICE
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is fully committed to assisting those in need as well as the betterment of communities around the globe. The Sorority has a proud history of offering service under the auspice of the organization’s signature program entitled, Project Reassurance. The five main programs under Project Reassurance include Operation BigBookBag, Women's Wellness Initiative, Swim 1922, Project Cradle Care, and the Annual Youth Symposium. Through active participation in programs and through networking with other organizations, Sigma’s legacy of service to improve the quality of life for all continues.
SCHOLARSHIP
Zeta Alpha Sigma awards multiple scholarships to high school and college students annually. Each year the ZAS Scholarship Committee will announce the details, including eligibility and dollar amounts, of the scholarships to be awarded for the upcoming season. All submissions for scholarship consideration will become the property of the ZAS Scholarship Committee and will not be returned to applicants, as winning submissions may be featured in future marketing and promotion of ZAS scholarships.
FUNDRAISING
In order to support our philanthropic efforts from year to year, Zeta Alpha Sigma hosts a variety of fundraising events. Fundraising helps our chapter provide scholarships, school supplies, baby items, non-perishable food, toiletries, and more to those in need in our community. Additionally, fundraising helps our chapter hosts educational programs for youth as we continue striving for greater. S.I.G.M.A. Foundation of GA
The S.I.G.M.A. Foundation of Georgia, Inc. (SFG) is a non-profit organization created and designed to articulate and promote the needs and goals of the youth in College Park, East Point, and Clayton County, Georgia. The non-profit was founded by members of the Zeta Alpha Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to help further the aims of the organization through greater awareness of and commitment to the needs of the south Atlanta community.
